The Save The Waves Mobile App gathers data from coastal users to report significant coastal challenges such as unauthorized development, plastic pollution, and water contamination. Through the use of smartphone technology, users take photos of affected areas, which are automatically geotagged using the phone's GPS coordinates. This information is shared with field experts, coastal authorities, and conservation managers within our network. By leveraging the collective efforts of our diverse community, we aim to detect and mitigate threats in surf ecosystems worldwide, fostering community engagement and environmental stewardship within local coastal areas.
